K Annamalai On Anna University Rape Case: Tamil Nadu BJP president K Annamalai took off his shoes during a press conference in Coimbatore on Thursday (December 26) and said, “From tomorrow till the DMK is voted out of power, I will not wear any footwear.” Along with this, he also announced a fast of 48 days to visit all the 6 Dhams of Lord Murugan.
Annamalai is angry over the sexual harassment case at Chennai’s Anna University, criticizing the DMK government and targeting the police for leaking the FIR in the case, in which the complete identity of the victim has been revealed. He accused the police of protecting the accused because the accused is associated with DMK. He said, “As always, we will not give money to win the elections. We will contest the elections without distributing money. I will not wear slippers until the DMK government goes away.”
Of. Annamalai will whip himself
He further said that he will whip himself 6 times outside his residence in Coimbatore tomorrow (Friday) to eliminate all evils. He said that he will observe a fast for 48 hours and pray to Lord Murugan for the betterment and welfare of the state. In fact, BJP had recently called a press conference to discuss the incident of sexual harassment of a 19-year-old student at Anna University. During this time K. Annamalai targeted DMK.
Annamalai also targeted the police
Questioning the intentions of the DMK government and the state police, K Annamalai alleged that they deliberately leaked the copy of the FIR, thereby exposing the identity of the victim. Annamalai also targeted the state police. He said that the police wrote the FIR in such a way that the victim was embarrassed.
