Weather forecast: According to the forecast of the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD), due to the influence of western disturbances, Delhi-NCR, Noida, Haryana, Punjab, Uttar Pradesh and Rajasthan may receive light to moderate rain with strong winds from 20 to 21 February. The movement of clouds has already started and a slight drop in temperature will be recorded in the rains. With this, the effect of winter will be felt once again.
On Wednesday (February 19), the minimum temperature in Delhi was recorded at 13.3 degrees Celsius, which is 2.2 degrees above normal. The maximum temperature was 28.8 degrees Celsius. According to the Meteorological Department, thunderstorms and rain are expected in the coming days. Pollution level in Delhi also remains a matter of concern. According to the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB), Delhi’s Air Quality Index (AQI) was recorded in 209 which falls in the ‘poor’ category.
Changed weather patterns in Uttar Pradesh and Rajasthan
There is a possibility of rain with thunderstorms in many districts of Uttar Pradesh. The Meteorological Department has issued an alert to shine lightning in many districts including Shahjahanpur, Badaun, Lakhimpur Kheri, Sitapur and Hardoi. At the same time, due to the active western disturbance in Rajasthan, there may be light rain in many areas including Jaipur, Kota, Bikaner, Bharatpur and Jodhpur.
Alert of heavy rain in north-eastern states
There is a possibility of thunderstorms with thunderstorms in Arunachal Pradesh, Meghalaya, Assam, Nagaland, Mizoram, Sikkim, Manipur and some areas of West Bengal due to cyclonic circulation. During this time, winds can move at a speed of 30 to 40 kilometers per hour, so that the weather will remain cool.
Possibility of snowfall in Himachal and Uttarakhand
On February 20, there is a possibility of rain and snowfall in areas with strong winds in the hilly states of Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand. According to the Skymet, after the increase in temperature, the decline can be recorded again, due to which the effect of cold will remain. Snowfall continues in Jammu and Kashmir amidst the harsh cold. The tourists are enjoying snowfall around Dal Lake in Srinagar. The Meteorological Department has warned of rain and snowfall in many parts of the state due to the effect of western disturbance on 20 February. However, the weather is expected to improve the weather from 21 February.
How will the weather be in Haryana, Punjab and Bihar?
The movement of clouds will remain in Haryana and Punjab from 20 to 21 February. Light rains are likely in Sirsa, Hisar and Fatehabad in Haryana. On the other hand, rain is forecast in 16 districts from 23 February in Bihar. Many areas including Supaul, Araria, Madhepura, Kishanganj, Katihar may rain with celestial lightning and thunderstorms.
