According to an agency, a grass merchant was allegedly beaten to death by some people in Shamli district of Uttar Pradesh. The incident took place in Keratu village on Saturday. Additional Superintendent of Police (ASP) Santosh Kumar said that Ankush Kumar (27) had gone to Keratu to buy grass from Nagla village in Muzaffarnagar.

The body was found near the dhaba
Later his body was found with a mark of injury near a dhaba on the Meerut-Karnal highway. According to the complaint lodged by the family of the deceased, Ankush was allegedly beaten to death for unknown reasons.

Police said that a case has been registered on the basis of the complaint and further investigation is going on. Local people are being questioned to find out the accused. Also, nearby CCTVs are also being checked. At the same time, local people said that the body of a person was found lying. There were bruises on the deadbody. After which the police was informed.
