In Kaushambi district of Uttar Pradesh, a dispute over a motor on a government hand pump took violent form on Monday morning. The quarrel between the two sides increased so much that a 35-year-old man was beaten to death. The police have detained an accused in this case and the investigation is on.
How did the dispute happen?
According to the report of the news agency, the incident took place in Sandipan Ghat police station area at around 10 am. According to SP Brijesh Kumar Srivastava, Ramesh, a resident of the village, had fitted a motor fit on a government hand pump near his house.
On Monday, a person from the village Anil expressed his desire to fill water from that hand pump, but the debate started about this. During the debate, Anil’s partner Saifi also came there and the dispute increased further.
Attack due to sticks, death on the spot
The dispute soon turned into a violent clash. Ramesh and his associates attacked Saifi with sticks, iron rods and other sharp weapons. Saifi was seriously injured in the attack and died on the spot.
Administration alert, police force deployed
On receiving the information of the incident, District Magistrate Madhusudan Hulgali and SP Brijesh Kumar Srivastava reached the spot with the police force. The police have taken the body in possession and sent it for postmortem. SP Srivastava said that the main accused Ramesh is being interrogated for custody and a case is being filed in this case. Also, additional police force has been deployed to maintain peace in the area.
