In Banda district of Uttar Pradesh, the police has busted a gang of cannabis smuggling, whose story is shocking. The Matunda police have arrested four ganja smugglers, from whose possession more than 36 kg of illegal cannabis has been recovered. During the investigation, the police came to know that an accused involved in this gang had deliberately married in Odisha, so that the local smugglers there could connect with the network and trade intoxication.
According to the information, the arrested main accused has been identified as Alkharam Kushwaha, resident Maudha police station area, Hamirpur district. Alkharam married Sona Ratan Rana’s daughter living in Tarabha police station area of ​​Sonpur district of Orissa. Alkharam was identified with Sona Ratan in connection with bringing hemp, which later turned into relationship and reached marriage.

Sona Ratan Rana and his two nephews Shivprasad and adjective Rana were already involved in hemp smuggling. After marriage, Alkharam, along with father -in -law and years, created a network of smuggling of cannabis from Orissa. The four accused used to supply cannabis in the districts of Bundelkhand like Banda, Chitrakoot, Mahoba and Hamirpur via the route via Bihar and Madhya Pradesh by train.
The Banda police arrested the four smugglers during the checking operation. Three of the caught smugglers are residents of Orissa while Alkharam is a resident of Hamirpur. Police said that Alkharam has already registered several criminal cases.
According to the press note issued by Banda SP Media Cell, the accused have been sent to jail and information is being collected about other people associated with Ganja smuggling network. The police is taking further legal action.
