The body of police constable Amit Kumar, who was missing from 18 February in Aligarh, was recovered from a drain on the outskirts of the city on Wednesday night. The police have arrested two accused in this case. It is being told that late Wednesday night, the police received information that a dead body was lying in the drain. On reaching the spot, the body was identified as police constable Amit Kumar, who was posted in the 38th Battalion PAC.
Amit Kumar was returning to duty from his village, but went missing on the way. His disappearance report was filed. When the police searched the CCTV footage, Amit Kumar was seen getting off the bus with two people and going to the liquor shop.
Police constable’s body found in drain
There the three drank alcohol and then the accused pushed Amit Kumar into the drain, causing him to drown. After this, the accused looted their belongings and fled. The police have taken the body in possession and sent it for postmortem.
Police arrested two accused
The police arrested the accused and strictly questioned them. Both the accused confessed to the crime. After presenting in court, the accused were sent to jail. Since the incident, the families of the deceased are in a bad state, they are pleading for justice.
