A poster by Iran’s supreme leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei was posted outside a house in Maurawan town of Unnao district of Uttar Pradesh, which was removed after police intervention. This incident came to light on Sunday.
Police officials said that during the patrolling in Syedbada locality of Maurawan, the police team caught sight of the poster. The policemen immediately reached the spot and interacted with the owners of the house. While talking sensibly, he urged the family members to remove the poster.
After the police explained, the people of the house removed the poster themselves. Officials said that there was no dispute and hence no FIR has been registered in this case.
Atmosphere peaceful
Circle Officer (Purwa) Ajay Kumar Singh informed that there is no tension in the area after the incident and the atmosphere is completely peaceful. He also clarified that this matter was just part of a common vigilance and there is no need to give it a communal color.
Police appealed to maintain peace
Local people also praised the understanding of the police and said that the matter was settled peacefully without any disturbance. The police have appealed to everyone to avoid putting any kind of inflammatory material or poster, which can deteriorate social harmony.
Maurawan town is a mixed populated area and people of different religions live with brotherhood. The action taken by the police in time averted any possible dispute. Since this incident, vigilance regarding security in the area has been increased.
