According to the statement, Amit Shah stressed that 100 percent implementation of the new criminal laws should be ensured in all the seven commissionerates of Uttar Pradesh by March 31 and as soon as possible in the entire state. The statement said that the Union Home Minister asked Yogi Adityanath to review the progress made in implementing the new criminal laws in February and implement them completely in the state as soon as possible.

These three new laws will be in place in the country from July 1, 2024

The Indian Judicial Code, the Indian Civil Defense Code and the Indian Evidence Act have replaced the colonial-era Indian Penal Code, the Code of Criminal Procedure and the Indian Evidence Act of 1872, respectively. The new laws were implemented on July 1, 2024.
