From the new year, not only the calendar but also many major rules are changing. One of the big rules is regarding UPI. There is going to be a big change in this from today i.e. 1st January 2025, which is going to affect the people using UPI. Actually, RBI had decided to change the transaction limit of UPI, in view of which the UPI limit of 123p is being doubled.
After this decision of the Reserve Bank of India, now users will be able to make transactions of Rs 10,000 using UPI 123Pay. Earlier this limit was only Rs 5000. It was decided to implement the new rules of UPI 123 Pay service from January 1, 2025 and this can happen from today. It is important to know that UPI 123Pay is a facility under which you can make payment through UPI even without internet.
Payment will be done even without internet
Due to no internet payment, its limit was very low, due to which users having feature phones faced difficulty in making payment, but now this decision of RBI will provide convenience. Let us tell you that from time to time RBI issues new rules regarding money transactions and makes every effort to control such transactions.
4 crore feature users
In UPI 123pay, every user is given 4 options as payment option. This includes use of IVR numbers, missed calls, OEM-embedded Apps and sound based technology. Feature phone users can do UPI transactions through IVR number. Users have to call IVR numbers- 080-45163666, 08045163581 and 6366200200. Then UPI will have to be verified. After this, payment will be completed after completing the instructions given on the call. Currently there are 4 crore feature phone users in India. In such a situation, these users are going to get a big facility.
When was this service of UPI started?
To increase the number of UPI users and connect more and more people with digital transactions, the UPI 123 Pay feature was launched in March 2022. It is believed that UPI payment is spreading rapidly to small towns and villages in India. In such a situation, RBI has doubled the limit of UPI payment. At the same time, UPI has been started in many other countries including Sri Lanka.
