America-taiwan policy: India’s neighboring country China is known for its expansionist policies. Because of this, there is a rift with their neighboring countries. For example, Taiwan and India are two countries with which China’s land dispute continues. China has also threatened to attack Taiwan several times. China claims that Taiwan belongs to him and he will also capture it. However, America has always been supporting Taiwan.
The US State Department has recently made changes in the words written about Taiwan on its website, on which China has expressed displeasure. The line has been removed from the fact sheet of the Foreign Department website about Taiwan, ‘We do not support Taiwan’s freedom’. After this change, China has accused America of using Taiwan.

A spokesman for the US State Department described this change as a regular update. The spokesman said, “We keep updating information about our informal relations with Taiwan.” The US supports maintaining peace and stability in Taiwan and opposes any unilateral change. The spokesman said that the US supports cross-state dialogue and hopes that the dispute will be resolved in peaceful ways.
China’s response
China has reacted strongly to the changes made by the US in the stance related to Taiwan. China’s Foreign Ministry spokesman said, “This is another example of America’s wrong policy, in which he is using Taiwan to suppress China.” He has urged America to “rectify his mistakes immediately”.
Tension increased with China
These changes about Taiwan of America have increased tension with China. China has made serious allegations against the US about the use of Taiwan. It will be interesting to see in which direction this change in America-China relations moves and how will China’s pressure react to Taiwan.
