Alien enemy act of 1798: A US Federal Judge barred President Donald Trump from using a 227 -year -old law made in terms of US security during the war, from the people of Venezuela from extensively.
Trump announced on Saturday (March 15) that Venezuela’s crime gang is launching an ‘irregular war’ against NRI related to the ‘Train de Aragua’ and he would exist on a large scale under the Alien Animi Act (Foreign Shatru Act) in the year 1798. But shortly after this, James Boseberg, a District Judge of America, ordered to stop exile under this law. Now this law will be banned for 14 days.
This law allows the US to detain and take them out of the country without following the appropriate procedure to the US during the war. It was last implemented to send people of Japanese origin during the Second World War.
Case can go to Supreme Court
During his election campaign, Trump had promised to implement this law many times. When he was about to implement it on Saturday, the American Civil Liberty Union and other groups filed a lawsuit to stop it. The matter will now pass through a legal system and it can go to the Supreme Court.
What was in Trump’s order?
According to Trump’s order, all Venezuela citizens in the US who are at least 14 years old, are members of ‘Train de Aragua’ and not a legitimate permanent resident, should be caught out.
