A sensational incident of murder of a newly married woman has come to light in Kotwa village of Maniyar police station area of Ballia district of Uttar Pradesh. It is alleged that in order to make the woman’s murder a suicide, her in -laws hung the body with a fan hook. The police have registered a case on the complaint of the victim’s family and arrested three women.
According to the information, Sapna (22), wife of Narendra Chauhan, a resident of Kotwa village in Ballia district, was found dead in a room in her in -laws. His body was found hanging from the fan, causing this case to be like suicide. On receiving information about this incident, a police team reached the spot. He took the body in possession and sent it for postmortem.
Station in -charge Ratnesh Dubey said that on the complaint of Sapna’s maternal grandfather Bablu Chauhan, an FIR has been registered under the related sections of the Indian Justice Code and the Dowry Prohibition Act. In this case, Sapna’s husband Narendra Chauhan, her sister Champa Devi and two nandas, Pooja Devi and Reena Devi have been named. Sapna was married to Narendra Chauhan on 2 March 2025 this year.
Family members allege that in -laws were given 90 thousand rupees bank transfer, three lakh rupees cash, a gold chain and a ring as dowry. Despite this, he continued to harass Sapna. They were demanding bullet motorcycles and an additional three lakh rupees. When Sapna’s family refused to fulfill these demands, she was murdered.
Police say that Sapna’s body was hung from the fan to make the murder a form of suicide. But in the initial investigation, the police got indications of murder. After completing the necessary legal proceedings, the police sent the three women arrested to judicial custody. Sapna’s husband Narendra is absconding. The police is searching for him.
