If you are from Uttar Pradesh (UP), then it is very important for you to know that the government has announced extra party time. The Uttar Pradesh government has recently decided to increase the timing of bars and pubs by 1 hour. Now bars can remain open till 12 midnight, which will give extra time to party goers. Liquor shops remain open till 10 pm.
Permission to drink 4 pegs of liquor in Maharashtra
There is strictness on consumption of alcohol in public places in Maharashtra. Only 4 pegs of liquor per person is allowed in bars and pubs. If found drunk in a public place, there can be a fine or jail. In Maharashtra, sale of liquor is banned on special days like Mahatma Gandhi Jayanti and Independence Day. If we talk about Uttarakhand, then drinking alcohol near public places or religious places will be counted as a crime. If a person is caught drinking alcohol in these areas, he may have to go to jail. Liquor shops in Uttarakhand remain open from 10 am to 10 pm.
Delhi and Rajasthan rules
The minimum age to buy liquor in Delhi is 25 years. Bars and pubs usually remain open till 1 am. Consumption of alcohol is prohibited in public places. A fine is imposed for violation. At the same time, to drink alcohol in Rajasthan, a person must be of legal age (21 years). Bars and pubs remain open till 11 pm. There is a ban on the sale of liquor in Rajasthan during festivals and elections.
Complete ban on alcohol in Gujarat
Gujarat is a dry state, where the sale and consumption of liquor is completely banned. Only people with special permits can buy liquor for medical reasons. If caught consuming alcohol in public places, there can be heavy fine and jail. There is strict control on alcohol consumption in Kerala. Bars and pubs are only in 5 star hotels. The minimum age to purchase liquor is 23 years.
Bihar
Liquor prohibition is in force in Bihar. There is a complete ban on the sale and consumption of liquor. Those who break the law have to face harsh punishment and heavy fines. At the same time, there is less strictness on the sale and consumption of liquor in Punjab. Bars and pubs remain open till 1 am. The sale of liquor remains closed on some special occasions.
