The accident occurred near Mana village of Chamoli at 7:15 am on 28 February. On the Moli-Badrinath highway, 55 laborers of the Border Road Organization (BRO) stayed at the container house, when the mountain of snow slipped. All the laborers were hit by it.

In addition to 4 army chopper in the rescue, more than 200 soldiers of ITBP, BRO, SDRF and NDRF are engaged.
