The police, while taking action in this case, arrested 7 Nihans. The arrested persons have been identified as Harpreet Singh, Amritpal Singh, Harpreet, Binder Singh, Garja Singh, Harjot Singh and Bhola Singh. All these are said to be residents of Fatehgarh in Punjab. The police have also recovered sharp weapons from them.
Police said that Section 109 (1) (attempt to murder), 191 (2) (riot), 193 (3) (where the responsibility of the owner, occupiers or partner where the illegal gathering or riot is), 352 (deliberately insulted the intention of disturbing peace) against the accused.
