Vaibhav Suryavanshi (Vaibhav Suryavanshi) said in the video released by BCCI, ‘I am watching the Test match in England for the first time. I feel very good. We all came to see the matches. We got a lot of inspiration. Shubman Gill is a role model for us. Everyone’s dream has to play red ball cricket for our country. Vaibhav has scored 48, 45 and 86 runs in three ODIs against England Under -19 while playing for India U -19 team.
Vaibhav was accompanied by Under -19 team captain Ayush Mhatre, Head Coach Rishikesh Kanitkar and other staff stadium. In a video released on BCCI TV, Rishikesh Kanitkar said that VVS Laxman had made arrangements to watch the match of the under-19 team. He had said that it would be very interesting for young cricketers to watch this match. Kanitkar said that the young players saw how to pursue the innings in Test cricket during the match.
‘Gill played a classical test innings’
Kanitkar said, ‘As a batsman I want young cricketers to learn that every ball should not be hit and six. You can still be extremely effective, score at a good speed, as Shubman did. When we go back, there will be a session on what they learned from the match. Gill played a classical test innings. Choose good balls to play your shots. If he can do this, then our under-19 cricketers are also able to do so.
India Under 19 vs England Under 19 team’s ODI schedule
The India Under-19 team is currently leading 2–1 in the 5-match Youth ODI Sarries against England. On July 5, the fourth match is to be played in New Road, Worster. The fifth and final match of the Searies will be played on this venue on 7 July.
