In Kashmir, Vande Bharat (Vande Bharat) will be able to travel by train soon and it will start from tomorrow in April. The date has also been fixed for this. The first ‘Vande India’ will run from Katra station
Prime Minister Narendra Modi is going to flag off the first Vande Bharat Train on the Katra-Kashmir rail route on 19 April 2025. This moment will also be evidence of the completion of 272 km long Udhampur-Srinagar-Baramulla railway project. It says that Jammu-Katra-Srinagar Vande Bharat Express is initially being run from Katra station due to running renovation work at Jammu station.

38 tunnels, 927 bridges included in this railway project
According to the officials, this railway project connecting Kashmir was started in 1997. But, due to many challenges including weather, it was postponed several times. Bahrahal has now been completed and it includes 38 tunnels, which are spread to a total of 119 kilometers.
Apart from this, 927 bridges are also included in the railway link project, which is 13 kilometers in length. These include the Chenab Bridge, which is 1,315 meters of total length and Arch Spanish is 467 meters and is 359 meters above the river. The special thing is that the Chenab Rail Bridge is also 35 meters higher than the Eiffel Tower.
Rail link project completed last month
According to reports, Union Minister Jitendra Singh has said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi will reach Udhampur on April 19 and visit the world’s highest railway bridge and inaugurate it. After this, Vande from PM Katra will flag off the Bharat train. According to the PTI report, the officials said that the train service between Katra and Kashmir has also been approved by the Railway Safety Commissioner and the Rail Link Project has been completed only last month. He informed that the trial run of the train on the Katra-Baramulla link has also been successfully done.
Time to travel from Jammu to Srinagar will be less
This direct rail connectivity from Katra to Kashmir was being demanded for a long time, which is going to be completed now. According to railway officials, Vande Bharat Express, especially on this Udhampur-Srinagar-Baramulla project, will reduce the time of travel between Jammu and Srinagar. At present, let us know that train services are on between Sangaldan and Baramulla of the valley and from Katra.
