Vice Chancellor will now be called Vice Chancellor in the University of Rajasthan, BJP leaders had raised objections on the word ‘husband’ – Now in Rajasthan University

In Rajasthan, the Vice Chancellor of Universities will now be called Kulguru. The BJP leaders had demanded to replace him in the name of the vice -chancellor, saying that being a husband is wrong. After that the government introduced a bill to change the name in the Rajasthan Legislative Assembly which has been passed in the assembly.

The ‘Methods of Universities (Amendment) Bills’ was passed in the Rajasthan Legislative Assembly. Under this bill, the designation of the Vice Chancellor has been changed to ‘Kulguru’ and the name of ‘Pratikulguru’ in 32 government aided universities of the state. This change will only apply in Hindi language, while in English it will remain undone.

During the discussion on the Bill, Leader of Opposition Tikaram Julie questioned the excess of outposts in the universities of the state. He said that out of 32 universities of Rajasthan, only four are the Vice Chancellor of the state, while the most vice -chancellors have been appointed from Uttar Pradesh. Leader of Opposition Julie gave an example of a medical university, saying that a non-doctor from Maharashtra has been appointed as Vice Chancellor, who is not suitable for this post. He also said that in many universities of the state, teachers are not getting salary on time and more than 4,000 posts are lying vacant.
