JDU MP Harivansh from Bihar for the next Vice President involved in the race
After the resignation of Dhankhar, speculation of his successor has also started. In such a situation, JDU MP Harivansh from Bihar is also being seen in potential candidates. He has been holding the post of Deputy Chairman of Rajya Sabha since 2020. However, his term is also ending this month.
If the resignation of the Vice President is accepted, the Deputy Chairman of the Rajya Sabha will be the Chairman (under Article 91) till he is elected as the new Vice President, but he will not get the post of Vice President. Because there is no provision of the acting Vice President in the Constitution.
