The Mysore police, in collaboration with the NGO Odanadi Seva Sanstha, took a major action and rescued the minor girl from body trade and arrested two accused in the case. The arrested accused include Shobha and his associate Tulsi Kumar, a resident of Bengaluru.
Busted on demand of 25 lakh rupees
Police said that this gang used to charge a hefty amount from customers to sexually abuse minor girls. In this case, Shobha and Tulsi Kumar had demanded Rs 20 lakh for the ‘first sexual abuse’ (virginity) of a 12-13 year old girl.
Initial police investigation revealed that this network was based on superstition that is believed to have cured sexual disease and impotence by having a relationship with virgins. Due to this wrong belief, people were willing to spend a large amount and this demand was promoting this crime.

According to sources, Shobha used to contact suspected customers and bargained the minor girl by showing a WhatsApp video call. The NGO was aware of this information and immediately alerted the police. After this, a plan was made in collaboration with the police, Child Welfare Committee and Child Protection Unit.
The girl reached with and caught
On Sunday afternoon, at around 2 pm, Shobha Nagar reached Vijay Nagar near the government girl house located at the fourth phase. At the same time, as soon as he demanded 25 lakh rupees during the bargain, the police raided and caught him.
Shobha kept lying about the relationship
After the arrest, Shobha tried to mislead the police. First he told the girl as his daughter, then called the brother of brother and later claimed the adopted girl. But during interrogation, he finally accepted the truth. At the same time, his partner Tulsi Kumar was calling himself Shobha’s husband.
The baby was saved safely
The saved girl is a student of class 6, she is now kept under the care of the girl child. The police have taken both the accused on remand and now other people associated with this entire network are being searched. Officials say that this crime was being run in an organized form and there may be more people behind it.
