Delhi protest: The All India Muslim Personal Law Board (AIMPLB) has made a big announcement against the Waqf Amendment Bill. The board has announced that a big demonstration will be held on March 10 at Jantar Mantar in Delhi to protest against this bill. Through this demonstration, efforts will be made to pressurize the central government so that this bill will be withdrawn. AIMPLB has also appealed to opposition parties and civil society to join this protest.
AIMPLB spokesperson and organizer of this demonstration Dr. Syed Qasim Rasool Ilyas said that the Muslim Personal Law Board, different Muslim organizations and the Muslim community have lodged their protest in front of the Central Government and Joint Parliamentary Committee on several occasions. He said that this Waqf Amendment Bill presented by the government is a conspiracy to grab and destroy Waqf properties which should be withdrawn immediately. He alleged that this bill has been brought with the aim of weakening the religious and social properties of minorities.
Decision to perform after government’s silence
Dr. Ilyas said that now when the government is going to introduce this bill in Parliament, the Executive Council of the Board has decided that the government and political parties will be staged on 10 March to make the subject aware and protest on the subject. He said that this demonstration will be completely peaceful and its aim is to make the government aware of the concerns of the minority community.
There will be a big strike under the leadership of Muslim Personal Law Board
AIMPLB has said that apart from the top leadership of the Muslim Personal Law Board, central leaders of all major religious and national organizations will be present in this dharna. The board also clarified that this demonstration will not only be limited to the Muslim community but will participate in the social and political leadership of Dalits, Adivasi, OBC society as well as religious leaders of Sikh and Christian community.
Protests will be held in many cities including Delhi
According to AIMPLB, to make this protest more effective, there will be a demonstration in other cities besides Delhi. On March 7, a large scale protests will be organized in front of the Vidhan Sabha against the Waqf Amendment Bill in Vijayawada and Patna in Andhra Pradesh. The board said that this movement will continue till the government withdraws this bill.
