Waqf amendment bill passed in Lok Sabha, CM Stalin will knock on the door of Supreme Court

Waqf amendment bill 2025: Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin on Thursday criticized the passage of Waqf (Amendment) Bill in the Lok Sabha and announced that DMK would challenge this law in the Supreme Court. In the Tamil Nadu Assembly, CM Stalin said, “Tamil Nadu will fight against this law and succeed in it.”

In protest against the passage of the bill in the Lok Sabha, DMK MLAs tied black straps during the assembly session, CM Stalin reminded the House that on March 27, the Tamil Nadu Legislative Assembly passed a resolution demanding the withdrawal of the Waqf Amendment Bill. It was said in this proposal that this law weakens religious harmony and can negatively impact the minority Muslim community.

MK Stalin targeted Sadha Center

Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin said, “Most political parties across the country opposed this bill, yet it was passed in the Lok Sabha. It is very condemnable.” He stressed that 232 MPs opposed this bill, which is not a small figure and it should not be ignored.

CM Stalin further said, “The opposition could have become even stronger. This law should be completely withdrawn.” He also criticized the time and way of passing the bill. He said, “When most political parties of the country were opposing, passing this sensitive law at 2 pm is a direct attack on the Constitution of India and an attempt to spoil communal harmony.”
