Waqf amendment bill 2024: Voting was held on Wednesday, April 2 in the Lok Sabha at the Waqf Amendment Bill 2024. After the whole day’s discussion in the House, Speaker Om Birla said that 288 MPs voted in favor of the bill, while 232 MPs opposed it. On the passage of the bill, the Samajwadi Party (SP) MPs expressed displeasure and described it against the Muslims.
SP MPs criticized the bill
SP MP Zia ur Rehman Burke opposed the bill, saying, “People will never forgive this law and the process of passing it. If a particular community will be targeted, the country cannot develop. We will not oppose it in Rajya Sabha and will protest on the streets if needed. If necessary, we will also go to court.”

What did SP MP Mohibullah Nadvi say?
At the same time, SP MP Mohibullah Nadvi also described this bill against the Muslim community and said, “This is the worst law for Muslims so far. It has passed the basic spirit of the Constitution and passed. This law will raise many serious questions in the country.” Let us know that there was a sharp debate on this bill in Parliament on the previous day. Now it will be introduced in the Rajya Sabha, where there will be again discussion in its support and opposition.

Opposition strongly opposed
During the discussion in the House, the opposition raised many objections about this bill. The opposition said that this Waqf will intervene in the rights of boards and the government will interfere in the religious matters of Muslims. AIMIM’s Asaduddin Owaisi opposed the bill and after speaking, finally tore the bill.
Amit Shah accuses opposition
Earlier, intervening in the discussion, Union Home Minister Amit Shah said that this is the law of the Government of India and it will have to be accepted by everyone. Accusing the opposition, he said that he is spreading confusion in the society and is trying to intimidate Muslims and make their vote bank.
