Also, the government also criticized that they are not using the allotted budget properly. Kharge also said that the government has stopped five important schemes of the minority community and despite this, big things are being done about Pasmanda and women.
Opposition solidarity on Waqf Bill
Opposition distributed on the issue of Adani in Parliament, distributed on seat sharing in Haryana elections, contested in Delhi elections, questioned the Congress leadership after the defeat in Haryana-Maharashtra-Delhi. There was a fight within the India alliance. But after the Lok Sabha elections, the opposition, which has been divided since the Lok Sabha elections, suddenly became one on the Waqf Amendment Bill in Parliament.
Where the Congress and the Trinamool Congress, which run a sword among themselves, became one on the Waqf modification bill. Two months ago, the Congress-Aam Aadmi Party, who contested against each other, was united on the Waqf and opposed the bill.
The leaders of the Samajwadi Party had recently started saying about the weakness of the opposition due to the ego of the Congress. But the Waqf Bill in Parliament also removed that sourness. Everyone started speaking in unison.
The result was that when voting took place in the Lok Sabha first, 520 MPs participated. 288 voted in favor and 232 voted in opposition. Similarly, in the Rajya Sabha, neither the MPs of the ruling party nor the opposition parties got any divided opinion.
Why did the opposition unity so much?
The results of the 2024 Lok Sabha elections have highlighted new equations in Indian politics. This time, the NDA received only 8% Muslim votes, while the opposition alliance, known as the India alliance, received 65% Muslim vote support.
There are a total of 88 Muslim -dominated Lok Sabha seats in India, that is, the seats where the Muslim population is more than 20%. In this 2024 election, the NDA won 38 seats, out of which BJP won 30 seats. On the other hand, the India alliance won 46 seats, out of which 16 seats went to the Congress account. Other parties won the remaining 4 seats.
The special thing is that even in Muslim -majority seats, opposing parties have got more success than NDA. It is clear from this result that a large part of the Muslim community has stood in support of the opposition.
