What happened in Aaib’s report?
Initial report of the Indian Aircraft Accident Investigation Bureau of Investigation (AAIB) revealed that the plane of Air India could remain in the sky only 30 seconds after the takeoff. The fuel cutoff switches of both engines went from ‘Run’ to ‘Cutoff’. This means that the engine stopped getting fuel. When fuel did not reach the engine, he stopped getting strength and the plane crashed.
RAT did not work due to low height
After a few seconds of the flight takeoff, both engines stopped, due to which he could not gain the necessary strength. After this, RAM Air Turbine (RAT), which alerts the plane with the need for emergency power, but could not work due to low height. Although after this, the pilot also tried to turn on the engine, but by then it was too late.
