Samajwadi Party has submitted a memorandum to the Chief Electoral Officer of Uttar Pradesh demanding webcasting at all 414 polling stations of Milkipur Assembly by-election to be held on 5 February 2025.

The party has demanded that the webcasting link be shared with all candidates and recognized political parties, so that they can monitor the voting process and ensure fair, free and transparent elections.

Samajwadi Party state president Shyamlal Pal, in a letter to the Chief Electoral Officer, has described webcasting as necessary to prevent electoral irregularities and ensure accountability.

SP has also objected that while the facility of webcasting link is available to the election officials, the candidates and recognized parties are deprived of it, which is undemocratic and unfair.

The party has appealed to the Chief Electoral Officer to take immediate action on this issue and ensure a fair and transparent electoral process.
