Supreme Court verdict on Bengal Teachers: The Supreme Court will pronounce the verdict on Thursday (April 3) on the West Bengal Teacher Recruitment Scam case. The state government has filed a petition against the CBI inquiry into the case. The state government has also challenged the order to cancel the jobs of 25,753 teachers and school employees. Apart from the petition of the West Bengal government, 123 other petitions were also heard by the Supreme Court.
On May 7, 2024, the Supreme Court had imposed an interim stay on the order of the Calcutta High Court to cancel the job. However, the court had asked the CBI to continue the investigation. The court had also said that it would be better to get out of the job only through corruption. The state government had claimed that 7-8 thousand people had got a job in a wrong way. However, a satisfactory figure was not kept in the court.

Supreme Court made harsh comments
During the hearing of this case, the Supreme Court also made harsh comments. A bench headed by Chief Justice Sanjeev Khanna said that the state government should have maintained digital records related to this appointment. The court also said that this is a mess in a systematic manner. Government jobs are very few. People try seriously to achieve them. If the public’s faith goes away, then nothing will be left.
