After a dispute in Rabindernagar area, several shops were ransacked and burnt.
There was a violent clash between the two communities on Wednesday over the opening of a shop in Rabindernagar area of South 24 Parganas district of West Bengal. During this time violence erupted on the roads and many vehicles were burnt. 5 people were injured in the incident.
Kolkata Police and Rapid Action Force were called to handle the situation. The police had to leave tear gas shells. The miscreants broke the glass of several police vehicles. The police have arrested 4 people so far.
The violence started on Tuesday with a dispute over setting up a shop near the temple in Maheshtala area, which became uncontrollable on Wednesday. To control the situation, the administration has imposed Section 163 of the Indian Civil Protection Code (BNSS) in the area.
The BJP alleges that the West Bengal Police deliberately took carelessness and gave the miscreants a chance to organize. The party gave the Governor Governor Dr. C.V. Anand Bose has demanded deployment of central forces. At the same time, the Trinamool Congress says that the BJP is giving communal color to the local dispute.

Shubhendu demanded suspension of inspector
Politics has also been hot on this incident. Leader of Opposition Shubhendu Adhikari staged a sit -in outside the Kolkata Police Headquarters and demanded the deployment of central forces. He gave Governor Dr. C.V. Anand has also demanded Anand Bose to suspend Inspector Mukul Mia of Rabindernagar police station and investigate his role.
Shubhendu alleged that Mukul Mia deliberately was negligent during the violence and gave the miscreants a chance to organize. Also spoke of his political connection. He said that Mukul has tortured the Hindu side.

The Trinamool Congress dismissed the allegations, saying it was a local dispute, which the BJP is trying to give communal color. Kolkata Mayor Firhad Hakim condemned the violence and wished the injured policemen to get well soon.
