Nepal Student Suicide Case: & nbsp; Nepal’s Foreign Minister Arju Rana Deuba on Wednesday (19 February) requested Odisha Education Minister Suryabanshi Suraj to conduct a fair investigation into the Nepali student’s death and legal action against the convict. According to a statement by the Secretariat of the Foreign Minister, during the telephone conversation, Deuba also asked Suraj to ensure that classes should be resumed in a safe environment for other Nepali students in the university of Odisha.
Odisha’s & lsquo; Kalinga Institute of Industrial Technology & rsquo; (KIIT) B.Tech (Computer Science) third year student Prakriti Lamsal (20) allegedly committed suicide in his hostel room on 16 February. During a conversation with Deuba, Suryabanshi said that the Odisha government has taken the matter seriously and a high -level inquiry committee has been constituted to punish Lamsal for justice and convict. The statement said that he also assured that arrangements have been made to resume the safety and education of Nepali students in the hostel.

About 1,000 Nepali students study in KIIT.
