These posts include Assistant Loco Pilot, Technician, Railway Police Force, Junior Engineer, Paramedical Staff and Non -Technical Popular category (NTPC) i.e. ticket collector, junior clerk, assistant station master etc.
A new lakh recruitment in ten years
Between 2004 and 2014, Indian Railways recruited 4.11 lakh candidates. From 2014 to 2025, this figure increased to 5.08 lakhs.
How many applications per post came in 2024?
In 2024, 1,076 candidates applied for a post for RPF Constable. At the same time, 720 applications were received on one post in NTPC’s graduate category. There were 189 applications per vacancies for the post of technician and 98 applications for Assistant Loco Pilot.
What happened yet?
The ministry says that the result of computer -based recruitment examination of the first and second phase held in 2024 has been declared. At the same time, 9,000 technicians have been selected.
What is the recruitment status this year?
Indian Railways has issued a notification for the posts of Assistant Loco Pilot and Technician for 2025. As of March 2025, 9,970 vacancies have come out for Assistant Loco Pilot. At the same time, by June 2025, 6,238 vacancies have come out for the post of technician.
