At the birth centenary celebrations of Acharya Shri 108 Vidyanand Ji Maharaj, Prime Minister Narendra Modi was awarded the title of ‘Dharm Chakraborty’. Prime Minister Modi released postage stamps and coins in the program. He said that the government is digitizing ancient texts to preserve the cultural heritage of India. New courses are being started in mother tongues.
PM Modi said that I had told the Red Fort that we have to free the country from the mentality of slavery. Under this thinking, we are working on the mantra of ‘Vikas Bhi, Heritage Bhi’.
‘Our rites are from saints …’
He further said that on this occasion, the decision you have taken to give me the title of ‘Dharm Chakravarti’, I do not consider myself worthy. But our culture is that whatever we get from the truths, it is accepted as offerings. That is why I accept this offerings of yours politely and I offer at the feet of Bharati.
‘Today is a special day …’
PM Modi said that today’s day is very special for another reason. On 28th June, in 1987, on today’s date, Acharya Vidyanand ji Muniraj received the title of Acharya. This was not just an honor, but a sacred stream connecting the Jain tradition with thought, restraint and compassion flowed. Today, when we are celebrating his birth centenary, then this date reminds us of that historical moment. On this occasion, I salute Acharya Vidyanand ji at the feet of Muniraj. May their blessings be made on all of us, I pray.
‘India is the most ancient lively civilization’
He said, India is the oldest living civilization in the world and the reason for this is the immortal thoughts and philosophy of our saints and sages. India is the oldest lively civilization in the world. We are immortal for thousands of years, because … our thoughts are immortal, our thinking is immortal, our philosophy is immortal. And the sources of this philosophy are- our sage-monk, Maharishi, saint and acharya. Acharya Vidyanand ji Muniraj is the modern light pillar of this tradition of India.
He said, when efforts were being made to calm violence in the world for thousands of years, then India made the world aware of the power of non -violence. We kept the spirit of serving humanity paramount. Let everyone go together, we move forward together. This is our resolve.
Prime Minister Modi remembered Navkar Mahamantra Day and said that on that day we had called upon the countrymen to take 9 resolutions. I am glad that people are following these resolutions in large numbers. The guidance of Acharya Shri Vidyanand Ji Maharaj further emphasizes this resolution.
The Prime Minister said that when the world tried to stop violence from violence, India showed a new path to the world with the power of non -violence. He also reiterated that the government is committed to free the country from the ‘mentality of slavery’.
Prime Minister Modi repeated his 9 resolutions again and appealed to the people to follow. These 9 resolutions are-
– Water conservation
– Planting a tree in the memory of mother
– cleanliness
– Adopt local products (Vocal for Local)
– Traveling to different places in the country
– Adopt natural farming
– Adopt a healthy lifestyle
– To include sports and yoga in life
– Helping the poor
