Under the captaincy of Suryakumar Yadav, the Indian team performed brilliantly in the Asia Cup 2025. Surya Brigade won seven consecutive matches and won the tournament. In the title match played on 28 September (Sunday), the Indian team defeated Pakistan by 5 wickets. The Indian team has managed to win the 9th Asia Cup.
After the end of the Asia Cup 2025, India’s T20 team captain Suryakumar Yadav took a heart touching decision. Suryakumar Yadav decided to donate his entire match fee from Asia Cup 2025 to the victims of the Pahalgam terror attack and the Indian Army.
Captain Suryakumar Yadav wrote on his official X account after the match, ‘I have decided to donate my entire match fee of this tournament (Asia Cup 2025) to help the families of those killed in our armed forces and Pahalgam terror attack. You will always be in my thoughts. Jai Hind.’
There should be no controversy: Suryakumar Yadav
In the press conference after the match, Suryakumar Yadav said that he has done this as a gesture on his behalf. Suryakumar said that he personally wants to pay his match fee of all the seven matches of the tournament to the Indian Army. Captain Surya said that there should be no controversy about it.
Now the question is, how many match fees were received by Suryakumar Yadav in the Asia Cup. Let us know that on behalf of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), Team India players pay a match fee of Rs 3 lakh for a T20 International match. At the same time, this amount is Rs 15 lakh for Test cricket and Rs 6 lakh per match for ODI International.
Apart from men, women cricketers of India also get the same fee for playing international matches. In 2022, the then BCCI Secretary Jai Shah announced to pay equal fees to male and female cricketers.
Now Suryakumar Yadav played seven matches in the Asia Cup 2025. In such a situation, he has received 7 x 3 = 21 lakh rupees as match fees. This amount has been donated by Suryakumar Yadav to help the families of the Indian Army and Pahalgam attack.
