Sheikh hasina daughter sacked from who: The World Health Organization (WHO) has fired Zima Wajid, daughter of former Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina. Saima was working as a regional director of WHO’s South-East Asia. This action has been taken against Sheikh Hasina’s daughter after a complaint from the interim government of Bangladesh.
According to the report, WHO Director General Tedros Ghebreesus sent an email to the employees informing that Wajid will be on leave from July 11. The e-mail said that Dr. Kaitharina Bohme, Assistant Director General of the World Health Organization, will replace Saima in the South-East Asia Regional Office (SEARO) of the United Nations Health Agency.
Allegations against Syima Wajid
Earlier this year, the Bangladesh Anti -Corruption Commission (ACC) had registered a case against Wajid in relation to the educational qualification. The ACC also accused Syima of using his mother’s influence to achieve the post of regional head of the World Health Organization.
According to the report, he falsely claimed that he holds honorary position at Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University, which has been denied by the university. It is also alleged that when his mother was assuming power in Bangladesh, Vajed was involved in comprehensive corruption.
The ACC claimed that they took advantage of their influence and relations illegally from several banks to get about 28 million dollars illegally and transported the money through the Shuchona Foundation, whom she was once the chairman.
Special Tribunal allegations against Hasina
Bangladesh’s Special Tribunal accepted Sheikh Hasina of crime against humanity on Thursday. These allegations were made in connection with the mass revolt last year, in which hundreds of students were killed. Reacting to this, Hasina’s Awami League party condemned the hearing process and said that the tribunal is a Kangaroo court.
