This time in the Delhi assembly elections, the New Delhi assembly seat was made hot cake. The last three elections were very easy for former Delhi Chief Minister and Aam Aadmi Party national convenor Arvind Kejriwal here. But this time the BJP had put its trump card in front of them. Along with this, the Congress also fielded its heavyweight candidate from here to defeat the Aam Aadmi Party. Pravesh Verma from BJP, who was the son of former Chief Minister Sahib Singh, was Sandeep Dixit, son of former Chief Minister Sheila Dixit from Congress. It is obvious that this time the field was not clear for Arvind Kejriwal. Nevertheless, Arvind Kejriwal is the biggest leader of the party, Aam Aadmi Party is also ideological. Losing his New Delhi seat means that the public has not only rejected his party, not only his party. He has got more than 50 percent votes on this seat in the last three elections. It is obvious that it was not so easy to defeat him. However, BJP candidate Pravesh Verma gave him dust. Let us see what are the reasons, due to which the people of New Delhi seat rejected Arvind Kejriwal.
1-Middle class supports BJP in New Delhi seat
The New Delhi seat has most government offices. Most areas except some slums and colonies are posh, where rich people live or upper middle class and middle class population. Government houses of MPs also come in the area of this seat. The government quarters of central and state employees are in large numbers here. It is obvious that most of the population belongs to the middle class.
Only those who supported Arvind Kejriwal in their first, second and third elections were not supported by only slums and poor people. He gets more than 50 percent of the vote in every assembly election, that he was getting the love of all classes. But the system of cleanliness in Delhi, overflowing sewer, supply of dirty water, the formation of the sewer of the Yamuna river, etc. increased so much that people started seeing slums all over Delhi. Most of the people in Delhi were getting expensive electricity at the cost of free electricity. Most of the people in the new Delhi seat belong to the middle class. He felt that he was being cheated.
In the Lok Sabha elections, BJP’s flute Swaraj won the New Delhi Lok Sabha seat. But Aam Aadmi Party candidate Somnath Bharti was ahead in assembly seats like New Delhi, Delhi Cantt and RK Puram. Government employees and pensioners live in large numbers in these seats. In view of this, the BJP decided to set up the Eighth Pay Commission and at the same time a big change in the income tax slab was also used. The middle class felt that BJP is their real party.
2-Promise of firm accommodation to those living in juggies
This time, the BJP’s campaign in Delhi assembly elections started by handing over the keys of pucca residence to the poor of PM Narendra Modi. This time the Bharatiya Janata Party was working on Kejriwal’s core voters’ strategy to crack the vote of the slums. The Bharatiya Janata Party has promised to give a house where the slum. The BJP went to the slum settlements and explained to the people how Arvind Kejriwal is not allowing Narendra Modi’s poor schemes to be implemented. In the slums, people were told how houses have been built in many places for the slums, but due to the non -cooperation of Kejriwal, the gorobs could not be distributed till date. Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah continued to promise to give houses to the slum dwellers in every speech.
3-BJP also got votes of Valmiki community
According to media reports estimates, the number of Valmiki voters here can be close to 20,000. It is believed that Valmiki votes in Delhi have been received on a large scale this time. Anyway, BSP and Congress have been getting Jatav votes among Dalit voters. This time some Jatav vote Congress has also gone together. Most of the Jatav and Muslim votes are 4568 votes that Sandeep Dixit has got.
4-And Sandeep Dixit did Purnahuti in Kejriwal’s defeat
Like the entire Delhi, the Congress’s vote in New Delhi seat is continuously decreasing. In the last election, the Congress got only around four percent votes from here, while the BJP had got about thirty three percent votes, but this time the Congress nominated Sandeep Dixit as a candidate. However, as expected from Sandeep Dixit, he could not cut as much vote. After separating from the Congress, Arvind Kejriwal’s strategy to contest elections was that the Delhi government will benefit from the BJP apart from the BJP, then the Aam Aadmi Party will benefit. Sandeep Dixit has got only 4568 votes this time. It is obvious that if Arvind Kejriwal had got these votes, he would have won. Arvind Kejriwal got only 4089 votes less than Pravesh Verma.
