Upasana Singh, known for her comic timing and punchlines, is away from the world of TV. She has been missing for a few years. Even today the audience misses seeing him in ‘The Kapil Sharma Show’. He has played an iconic role in ‘Comedy Nights with Kapil’. But now she is working in Punjabi films. Also has opened his own production house. Through which Upasana has made her place in the industry till now.
Upasana told the reason
Recently Upasana appeared on Siddharth Kanan’s podcast. Here he told the real reason for saying goodbye to Kapil’s show. When Upasana left Kapil’s show, she also distanced herself from the world of TV. On the time spent in the show, Upasana said- Our show remained in the top for about two and a half years. But there came a time in my life when I had nothing new to do. I had told this to Kapil also.
“Both of us share a very good bond. There was no fight between us, I don’t know why people thought this thing. I told Kapil that Kapil, now the role is no different. What I used to do, Now I am not enjoying doing it, please pay some attention to my character.
Things were slipping away from Upasana’s hands. Because talks were going on regarding the contract, and also something was not going right in the channel. In such a situation, things became even more difficult. Upasana said- My contract was with the channel, not with Kapil. When they went with other channels, I could not go with them. There was tension among the team also. I was not feeling comfortable. When I joined another channel with Krishna Abhishek, I had to stay there till the contract ended.
Upasana told that during this period she also faced some things with the creative team. Upasana said- They used to cut my punchlines. I knew that they used to remove my lines only where the audience would laugh. I started feeling like torture. Ali Asgar also faced the same issue. Both of us were not creatively satisfied.
Upasana’s bonding with Kapil
However, later Kapil Sharma offered Upasana Singh to return to the show, but by then the actress’s focus had shifted to something else. Upasana said- I had produced two Punjabi films. Kapil also gave voiceover in those films.
