In the Asian Cricket Council (ACC) meeting, India today objected to not handing over the trophy to India during the Match Award Ceremony held after the Asia Cup final. During this time, India lashed out by ACC President Mohsin Naqvi’s antics.
Vice President Rajiv Shukla, who is representing BCCI, asked Naqvi directly in the meeting. He said- “Why the winning team was not given the trophy? This is the ACC trophy, not the private property of any one person. It should have been formally assigned to the winning team.”
Rajiv Shukla told the need to resolve this issue immediately and asked the ACC to take serious action on it. Rajiv Shukla asked sharp questions to the Pakistani Cricket Board (PCB) chief and ACC chairman Mohsin Naqvi in the meeting.

Mohsin Naqvi’s argument
In the meeting, Mohsin Naqvi said, “I was standing there like a cartoon without any reason. The ACC was not informed from anywhere in writing that the Indian team will not accept the trophy from me.”
However, when the Indian representatives raised strict questions, Naqvi replied that the issue will be discussed on another platform, not here.
Team returned without trophy
The controversy arose when India registered a stunning victory in the final of the Asia Cup. After this, the trophy ceremony saw unusual developments and Naqvi took him with him instead of handing over the trophy to the winning Indian team.
