Pictures of Gorakshpeethadheeshwar and Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath were waved at a pro -pro -restor rally held on Sunday in Kathmandu, the capital of Nepal. Some media reports have also claimed that the mob also raised slogans of Yogi -Yogi. This incident has caused panic in politics from Nepal to India. The ruling political parties of Nepal have made an issue that India is being interfered with Nepal politics. The Jutdhari Party Nepal Communist Party (Integrated Marxist-Leninist, CPN-Kumar) leader and Nepal’s PM KP Oli said that ‘We do not wave the pictures of foreign leaders in our rallies. This is a violation of our sovereignty. At the same time, the National Democracy Party termed the incident as a conspiracy of the government. The party says that the government wants to discredit the monarchy supporters under the strategy, so it is adopting such tactics. The question is, how did Yogi Adityanath become so important for Nepal’s politics? Why are Yogi Adityanath becoming a poster boy in Nepal for monarchy supporters?
1-Nepal’s royal family has an old relationship with the Peethadhishvars of Gorakhnath Math
India and Nepal relations are not limited to geographical or political realm only. People around Gorakhpur, located at a distance of about 94 km from the Indo-Nepal border, know to what extent the cultural and spiritual engagement between the two countries is. It is said that Guru Gorakhnath is offered the first khichdi on the Khichdi fair to be held on January 14 at the Gorakhnath temple in Gorakhpur on behalf of the King of Nepal. Only then does the Khichdi fair start among the general public. The roots of Nathpanth are associated with Guru Matsyendranath and Guru Gorakhnath in India. Gorakhnath has a deep connection with Nepal. It is believed that he blessed the founder of the first Shah dynasty of Nepal. It has since been occupying the Rajshahi of Nepal. Temples like Pashupatinath, Muktinath in Nepal have been enriching the heritage of Nathpanth.
The Peethadhishvars of Gorakhnath Math and Gorakhnath Temple have had a very close relationship with the monarchy of Nepal. Former Mahant Digvijaynath of Gorakhnath Peeth, helped to re -establish King Tribhuvan of Nepal in power. Mahant Avaidyanath supported the Maoists and the monarchy and Hindu nation in Nepal. Now the people of Nepal feel that Yogi Adityanath will once again come forward to liberate him from the Communist Nizam.
2-Did Yogi Adityanath become the biggest brand of Hindutva
There is no doubt that Yogi Adityanath has become a brand of Hindutva in India. Obviously, it will have an impact in India’s neighborhood. Nepal has been the only Hindu nation in the world. But in 2008, a new constitution was adopted in Nepali and democracy was replaced in place of monarchy in the country. Ever since the monarchy in the country has ended, the people of Nepal are plagued by poor-energy etc. The people of the country watch Indian cinema and TV. In the name of news, most of the Hindi news channels are seen here. The Chief Ministers of many states in India have liked Yogi’s working style, in the same way he is being seen in Nepal. Many anti -BJP Chief Ministers in India have also adopted Yogi’s working style. Yogi’s image in Nepal has become a strict administrator about the law and order of Uttar Pradesh. The people of Nepal also want that the leaders of Yogi should be adopted by their leaders. The action against the Muslim mafia in Uttar Pradesh has also affected the people of Nepal a lot. It has spread very fast among the people of Nepal that the Muslim population in Nepal is increasing very fast.
3-RSS’s old relationship with Nepal’s monarchy
Nepal has always been a part of unbroken India in the dream of RSS. Not only this, RSS used to see Nepal as an example of Ram Rajya, who never got impure due to the attack of Muslim rulers. The way the RSS and its allies in India have spread their roots across the country. Similarly, RSS branches have spread far and wide in Nepal. According to the BBC, in 1964, King Mahendra of Nepal was invited by the Rashtriya Swayam Sevak Sangh to address the rally of Makar Sankranti in Nagpur. This invitation was accepted by King Mahendra, but the then Congress government of India did not feel comfortable with the attitude of the king. The BBC wrote to Prashant Jha, the author of the Battles of the New Republic, that ‘King Virendra was facing protests against the Panchayati system. Then the Vishwa Hindu Parishad mobilized in Kathmandu in support of King Virendra and declared him a Vishwa Hindu Emperor. After the royal murder, VHP also gave the same title to King Gyanendra. The Shah dynasty of Nepal has a historical relationship with Gorakhnath Math in Gorakhpur. Gorakhnath Temple has many properties in Nepal. These include schools and hospitals.
