Fighting is going on in many countries of the world, now as years passed, tension started appearing between Pakistan and Afghanistan also. In fact, on Tuesday night, Pakistan conducted an air strike targeting Pakistani Taliban, in which 46 lives have been lost. In March also, Islamabad had attacked the camps of this group. Know, what is Pakistani Taliban, and why the Pak Army remains angry at it.
what’s new
Recently, Pakistan’s Special Representative for Afghanistan Mohammad Sadiq had reached Kabul to discuss bilateral issues between the two countries. Immediately after this meeting, tension increased on the border of both the countries and on Tuesday night, Pakistan allegedly carried out air strikes on the camps of Pakistani Taliban i.e. Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP), in which there were a lot of casualties. No one has taken responsibility for the attacks yet, but there are speculations that this could be the work of the Pakistani Army, which is very upset with TTP.
In Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa province of Pakistan, TTP has troubled the Pak Army. The name of this organization kept coming up amid the terrorist attacks happening here. In recent years, Tehreek-e-Taliban carried out many attacks in Pakistan. Allegations were also leveled against TTP that its people are of Pakistani origin but are in collusion with Taliban against the government and army of their own country.
At present it is believed that Pakistan might have carried out this attack to scare TTP. Meanwhile, the question is coming that what is Pakistani Taliban and what is its relation with Kabul.
What is TTP or Pakistani Taliban?
Tehreek-e-Taliban is a group of Pakistani Taliban, whose thinking and methods are similar to the Afghan Taliban. This organization was formed in the year 2007 and is largely involved in terrorist activities against the Pakistan government and its army. Its members are mostly active in parts of Pakistan like Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan. As can be understood, most of their fighters are from the Pashtun community, who live in the border and border areas of both the countries.
Why and under what circumstances was it made?
Although TTP members are Pakistanis, they find themselves closer to the Taliban. The history of their formation is also the result of the fight between two ideologies. In fact, after the Twin Towers attack in America, Pakistan, which came under American pressure, started military actions against Afghanistan, in which many Taliban fighters were killed. After this, the Pakistani youth associated with him formed TTP, which apparently had the support of Kabul. He was preparing enemies of Pakistan in Pakistan itself.
TTP has many objectives
Islamic rule has to be brought in Pakistan, especially in some parts of it. They want to eliminate Islamabad’s influence from Federally Administered Tribal Areas (FATA) and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
TTP militants consider the Constitution and government of Pakistan as un-Islamic. They want to remove it and bring Shariat law throughout Pakistan.
One of their big intentions is to weaken the Pakistani government and army.
At present its leadership is with Noor Wali Mehsud. Mehsud got this responsibility in 2018 after Maulana Fazlullah was killed in an American drone attack. Since then, incidents of terrorism and separatism seem to be increasing in the border areas of Pakistan. In recent years, the Pakistan Army has launched several operations to eliminate this group, but it made only a difference that most of the fighters moved away from Pakistan and shifted to the Afghan border. Recently these camps were allegedly attacked, in which civilians were killed.
What is the difference between Taliban organizations on both sides?
On one side is the Afghan Taliban, which lives only in Afghanistan and has been trying to implement Islamic rule in its own country. By removing the then government in the year 2021, it achieved its objective to a great extent.
On the other side, there is Pakistani Taliban, whose people are from Pakistan but keep fighting against their own country. They consider the government of Islamabad to be a government mixed with the West, which is against religion.
where are the weapons coming from
After Taliban came to power in Afghanistan, United Nations alleged that TTP has acquired very modern weapons. The government based in Islamabad also said the same thing but in a slightly different manner. He says that TTP got the same weapons which the American Army had left behind while leaving Kabul. After the arrival of Taliban in Afghanistan, these weapons were distributed among the Taliban supporters of both the countries. Pakistani Taliban now also has night vision technology, due to which it has started attacking often at night.
The US Defense Department itself admitted that some of the weapons left by them had fallen into the hands of TTP, but the department did not give any clear information regarding their number and impact. After the revelations in May this year, the Pakistan Army has become more alert and is attacking the camps of Pakistani Taliban who have fled across the border.
