Congress leader Mani Shankar Aiyar has targeted his party MP Shashi Tharoor and the central government. He asked why when the Congress did not recommend Shashi Tharoor in the delegation going abroad after Operation Sindoor. He said that none of the 33 countries visited by the Indian delegation blamed Pakistan for the attack.
‘United Nations and America also do not convince Pakistan’
Mani Shankar Aiyar said, “The United Nations and America also did not say that Pakistan is responsible. We are the only ones who beat their chest and say that Pakistan is responsible for the Pahalgam attack, but no one is willing to believe in our point. We have not been able to present any evidence that people can believe that the Pakistani agency has done this act.”
‘No country is blaming Pakistan’
In the interview given to news agency IANS, Mani Shankar Aiyar said, “Shashi Tharoor and his friends should roam as much as you want, but no other country other than Israel said that Pakistan was behind the Pahalgam terror attack. Everyone is condemning terrorism, but no one is ready to blame Pakistan.”
‘Government is unable to dare to tell the truth’
Congress leader Mani Shankar Aiyar said, “Trump has claimed several times that the US mediated the ceasefire agreement between India and Pakistan, but our government is not ready to say that he is lying. The government is not able to dare to speak the truth.”
The line of Shashi Tharoor on Pakistan sponsored terrorism and operation vermilion has been different from the high command of the Congress. During the monsoon session of Parliament, the Congress discussed Operation Sindoor from the list of spokespersons.
26 people died in a terrorist attack on 22 April 2025 in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir. After this, the Government of India launched Operation Sindoor on the night of 7 May and the Indian Army destroyed 9 terrorist bases of Pakistan. After this, India sent its delegation to highlight Pakistan -sponsored terrorism in many countries of the world.
