Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar resigned from his post on Monday (July 21) night. The 14th Vice President of the country Dhankhar also cited the reason for the resignation. He said that I am leaving the post due to health reasons. His term was till 10 August 2027, but Dhankhar resigned before the completion of his term. The Vice President submitted his resignation to President Draupadi Murmu under Article 67 (A).

Dhankhar has also mentioned the reason for leaving the post in the resignation. He has cited health. Dhankhar wrote in the letter, “I am resigning from the post of Vice President, following the advice of doctors and giving priority to health.”

Dhankhar Before becoming the Vice President, he has held the post of Governor of West Bengal from 2019 to 2022. He also worked as Union Minister of State for Parliamentary Affairs in the government led by Chandrashekhar earlier from 1990 to 1991. He has also represented Jhunjhunu Lok Sabha constituency of Rajasthan. Dhankar was also a member of the Rajasthan Legislative Assembly from 1993 to 1998.
