Will Dilip Ghosh join TMC? Cleaning herself after meeting Mamta Banerjee – BJP Dilip Ghosh Meets Mamata Baneerjee Says Nothing Wrong in Visiting Digha Temple Ntc

Former West Bengal BJP president Dilip Ghosh has rejected speculation of joining the Trinamool Congress (TMC). He said that I visited the recently built Sreejgannath temple only because he had received an official invitation and the party did not refuse to go there.

Ghosh along with his newly married wife Rinku Majumdar reached the temple on Wednesday where he also met Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee. The video of this meeting was made live streams on the Chief Minister’s Facebook page. Since then, before the 2026 assembly elections, the speculation about his team-circle intensified.

Talking to the media during a morning walk on the Digha beach, Ghosh said, ‘Our party did not ask us to deny this invitation. I was called and I came. I have the courage to do this.

He further said, “Why do millions of people visit the Ram temple in Ayodhya or the Kashi Vishwanath temple in Varanasi? Did Mamata Banerjee not forbade her leaders to go to the Kumbh Mela, yet many have gone. Did they commit a crime? Who built the temple, it is not necessary, people go there to worship God.”

When asked if they were joining TMC? So he gave a direct reply, “Why should I go? I have not changed the party in the last 10 years, as the rest of the people do during the election. Dilip Ghosh does not have to change the party.” However, there is a clear displeasure within the BJP over his temple tour and Mamta Banerjee.

Statements of BJP leaders

BJP leader Swapan Dasgupta shared a picture of his meeting on social media and wrote, “The outrage about this alleged ‘betrayal’ among BJP workers cannot ignore the national leadership.”

State BJP President Sukant Majumdar also distanced a distance saying, “This is Dilip Ghosh’s personal decision. The party does not support the visit. Many MLAs were also called, but no one decided not to go in view of the atrocities on Hindus in the state.”

Leader of Opposition Shubhendu Adhikari refused to comment on this entire episode. He said, “I don’t want to say anything on this subject.” At the same time, Dilip Ghosh took the criticism lightly and said, “People keep talking about me. Even if it is negative, it is also like a publicity for me.”
