‘Will not talk to government’, SKM’s no to Supreme Court’s high level committee

Farmers Protest: NoYukt Kisan Morcha has refused to negotiate with the committee formed by the Supreme Court regarding farmers’ demands. The committee constituted by the Supreme Court has invited SKM to attend the meeting on January 3 to discuss the issues of farmers.

The Supreme Court had constituted a high level committee regarding the barricade at Shambhu and Khanauri border of Punjab due to the farmers’ movement, but SKM is not a part of that movement.

Refused to talk to the committee

Farmer organizations protesting at Shambhu and Khanauri border had already refused to talk to the committee. According to SKM, the Morcha does not accept the intervention of the court because the farmers are fighting on policy issues with the central government, where the court Has no role.

Mahapanchayat of farmers called on January 4

Farmers have called a Mahapanchayat on January 4 at Khanauri border. Farmer leader Jagjit Singh Dallewal said that he wants to give an important message to the farmers. This Mahapanchayat will be held from 11 am to 3 pm. It is being said that apart from Punjab and Haryana, farmers are also coming from other states of the country.

On fast unto death since 26th November

Dallewal has been on a fast unto death at the Khanauri border between Punjab and Haryana since November 26 to pressure the Center to accept the demands of farmers, including a legal guarantee of minimum support price (MSP) for crops. Farmers under the banner of Samyukta Kisan Morcha (Non-Political) and Kisan Mazdoor Morcha have been camping at the Shambhu and Khanauri border between Punjab and Haryana since February 13 after security forces stopped the protesting farmers from marching to Delhi.
