On the day of Panchami Tithi of Shukla Paksha of Shravan month i.e. Nagpanchami, the Nagwasuki temple of Sangam city Prayagraj was filled with devotees. On Tuesday, long queues of devotees started moving towards the temple in the early hours and by noon the temple complex was converted into a public publicity. The devotees are taking blessings by offering milk, lava, flowers and water by offering prayers to Nagraj Vasuki and Lord Takshak.

The Nagwasuki temple here has its own special significance. It is believed that Nagraj Vasuki, the criminal of the entire snake caste, is seated in the form of rock at this place. According to religious beliefs, worshiping at this place brings freedom from Kalsarp Dosha, Sarpadosh, and poison obstacles. A special puja ritual is organized here on the occasion of Nagpanchami, in which devotees from India and abroad participate.

Special worship of freedom from Kalsarp Dosha

Special Kalsarp Dosha Nirman Puja was also organized in the temple on this occasion. The team of Acharya and Brahmins performed this puja amidst Vedic chanting. The devotees including the family joined the Havan and Rudrabhishek. It is believed that due to Kalsarp Yoga in the horoscope, there is frequent disturbance, blockage, health problems and family disturbance in life. On the day of Nagpanchami, special worship in the Nagwasuki temple calms this defect and brings happiness and prosperity in life.

Crowd gathered with early hours, temple complex became the center of devotion

From morning onwards, devotees from different parts of Prayagraj started reaching the temple by walking, rickshaws and private vehicles. The temple had a long queue before opening the doors of the temple. Devotees worshiped the Nag Devta by offering milk, water, turmeric, kumkum, belpatra, flowers and lava. Many devotees arrived with their entire family. The women were performing the Aarti of Nagdevata by decorating the pooja material in Thal. From children to the elderly, he appeared in the shelter of Nagdevata. The melodious voice of bhajan mandals outside the temple complex made the atmosphere even more devotional.

Special makeup and punishment temple

On the occasion of Nagpanchami, a grand decoration of Nagadevata’s rock was done in Nagwasuki temple. Nagdevata was decorated with silver umbrella, gold crown, flower garlands and specially brought fruits, fruits and clothes. The priests of the temple duly worshiped. Apart from this, drinking water, medical camps, wings and toilets were also arranged in the temple premises for the convenience of devotees. The local administration deployed the police force in view of the crowd control and security. Barricading was done at various places so that the crowd in the temple premises would be controlled.

Anjana Devi, a devotee from Varanasi, says, we come here every year on Nagpanchami. This time the crowd is many times more than before. There is peace in the mind, it seems as if you are getting the blessings of Lord Shiva. At the same time, Vinay Tiwari, a devotee from Kanpur, told that he has come to perform worship for his son’s job and family progress. He said that by making peace of Kalsarp Dosh, the desired results are definitely given.

There is no fear towards snakes, a sense of reverence

Ashish Tyagi says that the festival of Nagpanchami not only organized worship but also strengthens the spirit of protection and co-existence towards snakes. On this day, there are resolutions to feed snakes, make safe bills for snakes and protect them in many places. In Prayagraj too, the sense of reverence and non -violence towards snakes was clearly seen.
