Dr. Manjit Singh, Civil Surgeon (CMO) of Yamunanagar, Haryana, has died. He was 53 years old. It is being told that he got a heart attack at the farm house in Kurukshetra.

Manjit Singh was filed by 25-year-old Lady Doctor of Yamunanagar on September 20 in sexual abuse and SC-ST Act. It was alleged that the CMO made a call and pressurized him to make a relationship. The lady doctor had recorded the call, on the basis of which the police registered a case.

After this, the CMOs were escaping from the police. His anticipatory bail plea in the local court was rejected. After listening to the call recording, the court said that it should be called very objectionable and vulgar words. After the anticipatory bail application was rejected in the local court, now the CMOs were preparing to go to the High Court.

It is being told that he was in a farm house in Shantinagar Kurdi in Jhans in Kurukshetra district. On Sunday night, he slept safely. Meanwhile, health deteriorated. Doctors at Kurukshetra Civil Hospital confirmed his death. The body is kept for postmortem.

  • Have to make a relationship with you: The victim is a consultant doctor in Yamunanagar. In the recording given to the police on his behalf, Dr. Singh’s alleged words were, “Get ready in 10 minutes, I want to have a relationship with you.” Apart from this, he had also made derogatory remarks about the victim’s caste, such as “You guys also get a job very easily, save it.”
  • At the behest of the mother, she recorded the audio: The female doctor recorded a full call (3 minutes 26 seconds) on the advice of her mother, which is now the main evidence of the case. On 20 September, she lodged a complaint with the Mahila police station Yamunanagar, in which FIR was lodged under sections 75 (2) and 78 of BNS, and Section 3 (1) (1) of the SC/ST Act 1989. The court, listening to the recording, called it a “very vulgar language” and ordered the arrest of the accused.
  • CMO had made several attempts to get bail: Dr. Manjit Singh escaped after the FIR was registered. The police started raids on his possible hideouts, while the accused were intensifying bail efforts through lawyers. After the anticipatory bail was rejected from the Sessions Court, the accused CMO was preparing to go to the Punjab and Haryana High Court. Meanwhile, the news of his death came to light.

  • Used to call office without any reason: The doctor had alleged that CMO used to call him in his office without any reason, causing him to be uncomfortable. He said, “He was my great officer, so it was difficult to say something even after wishing. On September 20, he called and asked to make a relationship.

Women CMO was transferred after dispute: There was a lot of controversy over posting in the post of CMO in Yamunanagar. The dispute between Dr. Manjit Singh and Dr. Poonam Chaudhary started this year. On March 20, the Health Department appointed Dr. Chaudhary from Ambala to Yamunanagar. Dr. Manjeet was transferred to Karnal Bio-Laboratory. About a week after this transfer, Dr. Chaudhary was transferred to Karnal and Dr. Manjeet was given the additional charge of Yamunanagar CMO.

Case reached High Court : Dr. Poonam Chaudhary had turned to the Punjab and Haryana High Court, stating this transfer against the rules. The single bench had stood on the transfer order. However, when she came to take over as Yamunanagar CMO, Dr. Manjeet did not hand over the charge to him.

DC had to intervene : Then Yamunanagar DC Partha Gupta had to intervene in this case. After this, Dr. Poonam took over as CMO. However, the double bench of the court finished the stay order with the transfer and Dr. Poonam was fined 20 thousand rupees. After this, Dr. Poonam had to leave the chair of Yamunanagar CMO again and on May 30, Dr. Manjeet took over as Yamunanagar CMO again.
