In India’s second innings, Yashasvi Jaiswal and KL Rahul’s opening pair made a great start. Both of them had added 50 runs in the eighth over. The fourth ball of this over was bowled by fast bowler Joshua Tung to Yashasvi Jaiswal. The ball rapidly hit Jaiswal’s feet and there was an appeal from England. The umpire also quickly lifted the finger in the air. After this, Jaiswal immediately approached his fellow opener KL Rahul standing at the other end and started discussing them. After discussing with Rahul, Jaiswal demanded DRS. By the time Jaiswal demanded DRS, the scheduled time of 15 seconds was over. It was more than a second. Nevertheless, the umpire accepted Jaiswal’s gesture and referred the third umpire for the verdict.
Ben Stokes took off on fighting.
