WHO chief stuck at Sana Airport : Israel attacked the airport and port in Yemen’s capital Sanaa on Thursday (26 December). During this time, World Health Organization (WHO) Chief Dr. Tadros was also present at Sana Airport. He himself has revealed that he narrowly survived this Israeli attack through a post on the social media platform X.
WHO Chief had come to Yemen to talk for the release of those UN employees, who have been held hostage by Houthi fighters for the last several months.
WHO What did the Chief say in the post,
World Health Organization Chief Dr. Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus said that he and all his colleagues were about to board the plane when Sana’a airport was attacked by Israel. He told that during this period there was heavy bombardment. In which a member of his flight was also injured and two other people present at the airport died.
The WHO Chief said that he and all his colleagues are completely safe, but they will have to wait until the airport is repaired to leave Sanaa.

UN General Secretary condemned the attack
United Nations (UN) Secretary General Antonio Guterres has condemned the Israeli attack in Yemen’s capital Sanaa. He has also talked about respecting international law. Guterres further said that civilians and humanitarian workers should never be targeted. Attacks on Sanaa International Airport, ports and power stations in the Red Sea in Yemen are extremely dangerous.

Yemen’s Houthi rebels said Israeli airstrikes on Thursday (December 26) targeted the occupied capital Sanaa and the port city of Hodeida. At the same time, the IDF said that it has attacked the infrastructure built by the Houthis at the international airport in Yemen’s capital Sanaa and power stations along with the ports of Hodeida, Al-Salif and Ras Qantaib.
