A heartbreaking incident has come to light from Pakistan’s Balochistan province, in which a loving couple was brutally murdered. Its video is becoming increasingly viral on social media. There has been anger at the international level including Pakistan regarding this incident and there is a demand for strict punishment for the culprits.
In the video that went viral, it is seen that from a SUV and some pickup trucks, people come to a deserted area near Quetta. From there, a young man and a young woman are brought down. The woman has kept a sheet on her head. He is given a copy of the Quran Sharif. Taking the Quran in hand, she starts walking towards the hill. The crowd standing around keeps looking at him. In the local Brahvi dialect, she tells a man, “Come on seven steps with me, then shoot me.” After this she further says, “You can only shoot me, nothing more than this.”
Many bullets shot with pistol
In the video, it was seen that the man walks some distance behind the young woman and then fires several bullets from the pistol from nearby. The girl falls after the third bullet. After this, the young man is also shot. Both die on the spot, while the people present there are seen expressing happiness.
Police arrested 13 people
According to the police, the murder was ordered by a local tribal chief Sardar Satkzai. The girl’s brother got angry with her marriage and complained to Sardar, after which this dreadful incident took place. The police have so far arrested 13 people, including the Kabalai chief and the girl’s brother.
405 cases of honor killing registered in 2024 in Pakistan
According to the Human Rights Commission, at least 405 cases of honor killing were registered in Pakistan in the year 2024. However, activists believe that the real figure may be much higher, because many cases are not reported.
