Leader of Opposition in Bihar Legislative Assembly Tejashwi Prasad Yadav claimed on Saturday (August 02, 2025) that his name is not in the draft voter list issued by the Election Commission. While holding a press conference in Patna, the RJD leader said, ‘I had filled the form during the special intensive revision (SIR) of the voter list in Bihar, but my name is not in the draft voter list. How will I contest the upcoming assembly elections? ‘ The reaction of the Election Commission has also come to light on this claim of Tejashwi Yadav.
ECI said on Tejashwi Yadav’s claim, ‘It has come to our notice that Tejashwi Yadav has claimed that his name is not in the draft voter list. His name is recorded on 416th in the draft voter list. Therefore, the claim that his name is not included in the draft voter list, false and factually wrong.

Tejashwi Yadav, while putting an EPIC number on the application of the Election Commission on his mobile, said that my name is not in the voter list. He also showed the video of this to journalists. Tejashwi said that you should be a voter of Bihar to contest elections, then you will be able to contest elections.
Final voter list will be published on September 1
The SIR process in Bihar will end after the final voter list is released on September 1, 2025. The voter list that has been released on the website of the Election Commission is not a final. Chief Election Commissioner Dnyanesh Kumar has already assured that all voters and political parties of Bihar will be invited to give claims and objections from August 1 to September 1 on the revised voter list. If Tejashwi Yadav’s name is not included in the voter list, then he too would have got two months to fix it.
