US President Donald Trump will address the US Congress today. During this time he can announce the Mineral Agreement with Ukraine. News agency Reuters have given information about this by quoting four sources. This development has come to light a day after the US banned the help given to Ukraine in the war against Russia.
Reuters quoted three sources as saying, “Trump has asked its advisors that he wants to announce this mineral agreement with Ukraine in his address to the US Congress.” However, sources also said that the agreement has not yet been signed and the situation can change. However, American Treasury Secretary Scott Besant told Fox News, “There is no plan to sign any such agreement.”

Deal could not be done after debate in the oval office
Reuters also approached the White House in this regard, but no response was received. Let us know that Ukraine President Valodimir Jailonsky visited the US on February 28 for this mineral deal. However, the deal could not be done after his debate with President Donald Trump and Vice President JD Vance at the Oval Office. Jailonsky was asked to leave the White House. During the debate, Trump called him a foolish president.
After this, US President Trump announced on 4 March that the US was preventing the help given to Ukraine in the war against Russia. After this decision, Ukrainian President Jailonski became a bit soft and he made a statement that he was ready to work under Trump’s strong leadership. He also expressed repentance over the incident in the oval office. In that meeting, Trump and JD Vance reprimanded Jailonsky, saying that they should thank America for their support instead of seeking additional assistance to American media.

Ukraine ready to sign the mineral deal
Trump had said, “You are gambling the third world war.” According to one of the sources familiar with the case, US authorities have talked about signing the mineral deal despite the Oval office incident in Kiev in recent times, and the Jailonsky’s advisors have urged the Ukrainian President to openly apologize to Trump. Jailonsky described the debate in the Oval office in the post on X on Tuesday as regrettable and said that Ukraine is ready to sign the mineral deal.
It is not clear whether any change has been made in the deal. The agreement that was to be signed last week included no clear security guarantee for Ukraine, but the US was provided access to Ukraine’s natural resources. It was also said in the old deal that the Ukrainian government would contribute 50% of the earnings from the natural resources owned by any of its state to contribute to the ‘Reconstruction Investment Fund’ managed by the US-Ukraine. Trump had indicated that his administration was ready to sign the agreement.
