Controversy over the installation of Maharana Pratap’s statue in Himachal Pradesh in front of the mosque, Muslim delegation withdrew objection – Muslim delegation withdraws objection to maharana pratap statue in Himachal Town LCLN

In Sujanpur Tira town of Himachal Pradesh, the Muslim community has withdrawn its objection to the statue of the proposed Maharana Pratap outside the mosque. Some members of the community may now attend the establishment ceremony.

City Council Executive Officer (CEO) Ajmer Thakur said on Thursday that the Muslim Reform Assembly has supported the installation of the statue and some members of the community can also participate in the establishment ceremony.

The incident took place by a delegation of the Muslim community barely two days after submitting the memorandum to the Hamirpur administration, requesting not to install the statue of Maharana Pratap in the park being built outside the mosque in ward number 4.

Reacting to the memorandum, the Vishwa Hindu Parishad called upon the administration not to back down from its decision to install the statue at the approved place. There is tension in the town about this development and the Deputy Commissioner has asked the SDM to look into the issue.

CEO Thakur said that Nizamuddin, the head of the Muslim Reform Assembly and members of the committee, came to his office on Wednesday and gave a letter, stating that many people are in support of installing the statue. A group of the community said that they welcome the installation of the idol in the park.

According to Ajmer Thakur, the head of the committee said that they want both communities to be peacefully. He said that the members of the committee also said that they will withdraw the application opposing the idol.

On Monday night, the Muslim delegation submitted its memorandum to the district administration, a video of which was widely broadcast. The next day, the VHP said that the idol would be installed at the place approved by the municipal body.

Panjak, Deputy Secretary of the State Branch of VHP, said that there is no justification for opposing the idol of Indian warrior Maharana Pratap in front of the mosque and a group of Muslim leaders outside the state is creating ‘anti -Hindu sentiments’.

The Indian called upon the Hindu community to unite to install the idol at an approved place. He also urged Muslims to attend the establishment ceremony in the interest of peace and brotherhood.
